Course Overview  

This course is designed for Sims 4 players who want to enhance their gameplay experience by learning how to find, install, and manage custom content (CC) safely and effectively. Students will gain hands-on skills to personalize their Sims 4 worlds with unique clothing, objects, mods, and more, while maintaining game stability and respecting content creators’ guidelines.

Learning Objectives  

By the end of this course, students will be able to:

- Understand the basics of Sims 4 custom content and mods.

- Identify reputable sources for downloading custom content.

- Install various types of CC correctly in the Sims 4 game directory.

- Manage and organize CC to prevent conflicts and maintain game stability.

- Troubleshoot common issues caused by CC.

- Respect intellectual property and follow ethical guidelines when using and sharing custom content.

Class Expectations  

- Attend all scheduled sessions and complete all assignments on time.  

- Participate actively in discussions and hands-on activities.  

- Maintain respectful communication, especially when discussing content creators’ work.  

- Back up game files before adding new content to prevent data loss.  

- Use only legal and safe websites for downloading custom content.

Compile a list of 5 reputable CC websites.

Install 3 pieces of CC and document the process with screenshots.

Install one script mod and explain its function.

Create a folder structure for your CC and submit a screenshot.

Identify and fix conflicts in a provided example.

Updating and Removing CC

Practice updating and safely removing CC. Provide audio recording of the process.

Ethical Use of CC & Supporting Creators

Find a video tutorial of a CC creators process. Write a brief essay on the importance of respecting CC creators highlighting examples from the video you found.

Final Project

Present customized Sim or lot with description of CC used.
